Generally, the copper rotor (steel rotor with copper ring) is connected with the motor shaft, and the permanent magnet rotor (aluminum rotor with permanent magnet material) is connected with the shaft of the working machine. There is an air gap (called air gap) between the copper rotor and the permanent magnet rotor, but there is no mechanical connection to transmit torque. When the motor rotates, the copper ring of the copper rotor generates induced eddy current when cutting the magnetic lines of force of the permanent magnet, and the force between the magnetic field of induced eddy current and the magnetic field of the permanent magnet realizes the torque transmission between the motor and the working machine. When the air gap is small, the transmission capacity of the speed-adjustable permanent magnet transmission device is strong; On the contrary, when the air gap is large, the transmission capacity is small. And the controller can adjust the size of the air gap manually or by control signals. For the automatic control system, when the controller receives a control signal (such as the signal that the system requires to adjust pressure, flow rate, current or liquid level), the controller identifies, calculates and converts the signal, and then sends an adjustment instruction to its actuator, which will adjust the air gap between the copper rotor and the permanent magnet rotor, thus changing the working point of the working machine, that is, adjusting the rotating speed and torque of the working machine.
